The Anniversary Ceremony for the Australian Chinese Charity Federation was held in Sydney, Australia. During the ceremony, the Australian Chinese Charity Federation donated to the Ya-an earthquake-stricken areas in the Sichuan Province, and also donated towards the association for the mentally retarded children in Australia. The guests attending the evening party enthusiastically participated in the charity bazaar. The guests included 500 Australian officers, overseas Chinese leaders and other honoured guests attending the Anniversary Celebration. Some federations and associations also attended the Ceremony. These included the association of fellow provincials in Fuzhou, the Australian Asian Business Federation, association of fellow provincials in Fuqing, Association of fellow provincials in Guizhou, Youth Association in Shanxi, Federation of Overseas Chinese of Jiangsu, Australia China Youth Association and so on. In the Ceremony, the children from the Association for Mentally Retarded Children in Australia performed many cultural performances. For example, they performed along with the ‘The Australian Centre for international culture and art,’ and provided an excellent performance for the guests.
During the Ceremony, Homart Pharmaceuticals donated and sponsored AU$10,000 to build the recreation and sports centre for the primary school in the remote Guzhang County in the Hunan Province. Homart Pharmaceuticals showed through their actions their wish to take care of the children who live in remote areas in China, with the hopes that they group up happily and healthily in a good environment. In addition, the Australian Chinese Charity Federation donated AU$ 10,000 to the Ya-an earthquake-stricken areas in Sichuan Province and AU$ 2000 to Association for Mentally Retarded Children in Australia. This was presented by the President of Australian Chinese Charity Federation and the member of Multicultural Committee in Canterbury Mr. Jingyu LIU.
