Australian-Chinese Horse Racing Festival and Chinese Agricultural Innovation Forum held in Sydney
Inaugural Australian-Chinese Horse Racing Festival and Chinese Agricultural Innovation Forum was held in Royal Randwick on 16th January 2016. The event was co-organised by the Australian Jockey Club and the Australia China Business Council. Honourable guests included Mr Philip Ruddock MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Mr Warren Truss MP, and Mr Andrew Robb MP.
The event kick-started with forum discussion –Australia and China Agriculture and Innovation. Mr Philip Ruddock said that with Australia entering the FTA with China, Australian agricultural markets have more opportunities for innovation and more quality agricultural produce will be exported to China. Meanwhile, with Chinese New Year approaching, the horse racing festival provides a great platform for the Chinese to better understand Australian culture and vice versa.
The first Australian Industry Council Founder and Chairman James Tang announced the event is the first platform of its kind for entrepreneurs to invest in Australian agriculture business, and to elevate our product presence in the Chinese market.
Well known health and dairy products manufacturer Homart Group senior executives were invited to support Australian-Chinese Horse Racing Festival. The winner of 2007 Miss Australian-Chinese Ms Song Hee hosted the inaugural event with an abundance of passion and energy. The prestigious venue Royal Randwick was decorated with Chinese elements, trees covered with red lanterns and red packets in the entrance hall for Chinese New Year celebration.
