Recently, Homart Pharmaceuticals held a warm welcoming for the MBA Scholars from world famous Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The university was established in 1937and was the first publicly funded, post-secondary technical institution in Hong Kong. The motto of the university is “To learn and to apply, for the benefit of mankind.” The university offers a wide range of quality academic programs which nurtures our much needed professionals and leaders of society. After their own research, arrangements, and recommendations from many parties, Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s trip to Australia included a visit to the famous Australian international company Homart Pharmaceuticals, designated as the place the MBA scholars will visit and study. They will use Homart as a research topic to write an essay, hoping to learn its business models and transparent corporate culture, benefiting from Homart’s global fast development.
The group of 50 Hong Kong Polytechnic University MBA Scholars was led by Dr. Jianqing WU – Professor of Management and Marketing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. All these MBA scholars have had a minimum of 7 years of experience in senior management positions, and they are all top performers at their work and university. Homart Pharmaceuticals Managing Director Ms Lynn YEH expressed her sincere welcome to these scholars and passed on her wealth of knowledge in business management and leadership skills. She also invited Gravin HO, (leader of the Hong Kong Australia Business Association) Hong Kong Polytechnic University alumni, to attend this event. The trip was carefully designed by Homart for these Hong Kong MBA scholars. First, they were led by professional Homart guides to visit the showroom displaying health care and skin care products in the new factory. They learned about the various high quality products that Homart presented at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, and visited the display centre that exhibits all the Australia and International awards/certifications won by Homart. Then, in the giant semi-hemisphere conference room capable of hosting up to 120 people, Mr. Daniel, Homart’s Export Senior Manager, presented the company’s reports, watched the commemorative film of Homart’s 20 years anniversary, and discussed the business models of both parities. During the seminar, Hong Kong MBA scholars expressed their high admiration for Homart’s corporate mission, which is to bring a healthy, balanced and happy life to the general public. All these activities impressed the MBA scholars.
Later on, all guests were invited to the cGMP germ-free manufactory area, where they learned about the manufactory process, strict testing and quality control, and Homart’s logistic and inventory management. They also visited the big air-conditioned logistics building and Homart Museum, the one hundred year old historical site located in the beautiful natural reserve, and the nearby Upjohn National Preservation Park. The manufactory, high-quality management, and the natural and clean factory left a deep impression on our distinguished visitors from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
