The 2014 Women of the Year Awards were presented on the 7th of March 2014 (the eve of International Women’s Day) at Parliament House. These Awards recognised the many achievements of women across NSW. This year 78 local women were elected to be finalists in contention for the awards. Homart Managing Director Ms Lynn YEH was the only Chinese woman shortlisted for this award, encouraging many more Chinese women to work harder and strive for outstanding results in Australia.
Former NSW Premier Mr. Barry O’FARRELL and Minster of Family and Community Ms Pru GOWARD MP attended these events as honourary guests and made speeches. Mr. O’FARRELL said that these outstanding women not only make significant contributions in their careers, but have also helped the local community by facilitating and attending numerous charity activities, and as a result they are true role models not just in careers but in the greater community as well.
Back in December last year, Minster of Family and Community Ms Pru GOWARD MP and Dr Geoff LEE MP visited Homart and presented the award ‘NSW Woman of the Year – Parramatta’ to Ms Lynn YEH. Ms Pru GOWARD MP congratulated Ms. YEH on her award and recognised her outstanding contributions to Australia and to her local community. Ms Lynn YEH also expressed her sincere appreciation to Australia for giving her the opportunity to educate the new generation and develop her company Homart Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd, take care of her employees and give back to the society. Lynn also acknowledged the input of her family and Homart staff in helping her to achieve today’s success and this award.
