The Charity Gala Evening 2014 was held recently by Parramatta Lord Mayor CR John CHEDID and Lady Mayoress Mrs. Monty CHEDID at the splendid and magnificent Oatlands House. Honourable guests included master of ceremonies, famous TV presenter & reporter- Belinda RUSSELL, comedian- George KAPINIARIS, and performers- Le Poly Voce, singer-songwriter-producer-multi instrumentalist-vocal coach- Anton AKTILA. Homart Pharmaceuticals Managing Director – Ms Lynn YEH and Operations Director Mr. Jeffrey, and several Australian Members of the Parliament (MP) and their representatives were also invited to attend the ceremony.
The purpose of the charity gala evening was to raise funds for organizations such as the Camp Lionheart for the Children’s Hospital at Westmead (a program for kids aged 7-13 with Acquired Brain Injury and other disabilities), the Children’s Medical Research Institute (an institute dedicated to advancing the treatment and prevention of childhood disease), Giant Steps (a school especially for children and young people between the ages of 2 and 20 diagnosed with Autisim Spectrum Disorder), Lymphoma Australia (established in 2002 to support lymphoma patients and their families), and White Stone (established in 2012 to address the growing need for addiction recovery services within the Eastern Christian community). Homart Pharmaceuticals was amongst the companies and individuals such as the Parramatta City Council, the University of Western Sydney, ANA Developments, Hitec Electrics, Canterbury Bulldogs, Parramatta Eels, Western Sydney Wanderers, and NADER Jewellers, that purchased corporate tables, donated auction items, raffle prizes and in-kind services. Homart actively participated in the auction and successfully placed bids, winning the Parramatta Eels autographed jersey, Cricket bat autographed by famous cricketer Doug Walters, and Western Sydney Wanderers FC autographed group photograph. The money from these auctions will be donated to the charity groups.
