Sponsored by HOMART GROUP and hosted by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, “Cultures of China, Festival of Spring” Sydney tour was held in Sydney Darling Harbour ICC at the night of Chinese Lantern Festival. Many honoured guests were present at this event, including Gu Xiaojie, the Consul General, Li Bing, the president of Nan Hai Culture & Media (Australia) Group, Yu Junwu, the leader of Huaxing Arts Group , and Lynn Yeh, the CEO of Homart Group. This unforgettable Chinese cultural night was warmly welcomed by 3,000 Australian Chinese.
“Cultures of China, Festival of Spring” Sydney tour was hosted by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and China Overseas Exchange Association. It was organised by Nan Hai Culture & Media (Australia) Group and co-organised by Huaxing Arts Group. The “Cultures of China, Festival of Spring” global tour was initiated in 2009 by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. It has become an important part of Chinese New Year celebrations for overseas Chinese people as well as locals and has reached more than 200 cities around the world.
A state-level professional troupe of artists from China showcased Chinese traditional and modern fashions. Yang Chi, the dean of Dalian Peking Opera Theatre, played Peking opera classic excerpts. Shaolin Kung Fu presented the charm of Chinese martial arts. Mongolian artist family brought a song called “Spring Is Coming” to the audience. In the last performance, Chinese famous folk singer Wang Hongwei sang a song called “Heaven Road” and ended the evening with an exciting climax.
